This is the crossover fanfic in my fan-series featuring Doctor Who (the Fifth Doctor - played by Peter Davison in the classic BBC tv series - and the Sliders.

For Stargate SG-1 this fanfic occurs just before the Season 4 episode "THE SERPENT'S VENOM".



What you need to know:
"The Doctor is a Time Lord - a time-traveller from the alien world called Gallifrey [Universe-777, the Stargate Universe] who travels in space and time thanks to his TARDIS which looks like a police box, bigger inside than outside. When the Doctor is severely injured or even killed, he will regenerate into a new appearance and body. He is currently in his fifth incarnation (4th regeneration). His thirteenth will be the last.

The Sliders have developed a technique called Sliding which allows them to go to different dimensions or parallel universes, but will they ever find the way to their home universe [Universe-001, Earth-001]? Actually Maggie and Diana come from Earth-022 and Earth-920 respectively and Maggie cannot breathe the air of Earth-001 so how will she survive if they eventually get there?

The Doctor with his companions - currently Major Samantha Carter of Stargate SG-1 from the US military of Earth-777, and the Sliders - is on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless and the powerless throughout the whole multiverse of multiple universes. The Doctor's alteration to the Sliders' timeline has resulted in multiple changes across various multiverse timelines in hypertime. Fixing these holes is an important task of the Doctor which has been sanctioned by an angel of God called the White Guardian. The Doctor has left behind his TARDIS in Earth-811 while he has slid together with Samantha Carter and the Sliders - Quinn, Wade, Professor Arturo, Diana and Remmy. Meanwhile Tegan, Adric, Nyssa and Maggie are still at Cheyenne Mountain. Gabriel Law has just joined Stargate SG-1."

Consumeristic World - Earth-819

"Hey I remember this place" Remmy said! "It's Consumeristic World!"
The other Sliders did not recall it due to some changes in the timeline which had occurred - so they had never been to this world, though Remmy (or Alt-Remmy who had merged with Remmy) seemed to still have the memory of the place.
"Remmy and his double-timeline memories!" Wade said...
The Slide had landed them right close to the city, very much close to a church. It was a catholic church. The Doctor and Remmy suggested they visit the church first. They could go to the city later on. Remmy said that this was the place they would meet a young lady who would abandon her baby. Sam looked surprised, but she said nothing.
After leaving the church, they came across a shop window in a not so busy street. On a tv in the window they saw a news report about Cardinal Arinze becoming the new Pope - the news reporter said that he was the first black Pope on this earth which pretty much reflected the St Malachy Prophecy 'Glory of the Olive' (Gloria Olivae).

Meanwhile Wade had met her sister - more precisely the alternate of her sister on this world - Kelly Wells and this world's version of her father, Don Wells. Kelly was so happy to get to know Wade, especially since on this world Wade had died in childbirth. Wade did not, could not, tell Kelly of her identity straight away, but she eventually confessed to being her sister. Both Don and Kelly did not want to believe this at first, but the Doctor helped convince them.

The Doctor wanted to try and get some technology which might be used to build a time machine, albeit a primitive one. This machine might be able to help them get the technology they require to be able to slide back to Earth-777, by getting some important parts from the future. The Doctor explained to the sliders:
"Any such trip to the future will be a one-way trip. There will be no going back for us unless we find a more sophisticated time machine or the TARDIS itself again. What do you think?"
"I say we should go for it!" Quinn replied. Remmy wasn't so sure, but they had no choice. So it was agreed upon by all.
Professor Arturo managed to get a job as a Santa in the mall, this would help to get enough money to pay for the parts of the time machine. Remmy made some fun of Arturo, like the first time they had been to this place before the timeline was altered. After a few days, Arturo had obtained his first paycheque. The Doctor soon got bored and took off to the mall before the others. So much that he went and found Ted, who was the owner of the mall, and began criticising the crass commercialism of the place. People were being encouraged to buy, make more debts and to make it worse, The mall was using hidden subliminal signals in tv transmissions to get people to buy and buy more than they can afford. Ted admitted to this to the Doctor and said 'so what?'. Sam had followed the Doctor and helped him to escape before the security guards got to him.

Earth-811

Professor Quinn - the alternate of Quinn on this world - was preparing to get the TARDIS doors to open, under Ahab's orders. By utilising some artifacts from the age of the Ancients, which could only be used by someone with a particular gene which the Ancients had. Naturally, some humans had this gene, and Professor Quinn was one of them.
Ahab laughed and laughed. Soon this game would be over. First he had obtained important information on Sliding to other dimensions from the Slider Quinn, and now, he would have the technology to travel through time, space via the Doctor's TARDIS! He would be able to recapture Rachel Summers!
Professor Quinn broke the TARDIS outer firewall, which was not easy, even for a genius such as himself. It was the first step. The next was the inner firewall, then he could reprogram the TARDIS' so anyone could open it. The doors began to creak while the Cloister Bells could now be heard. The breach had been successful. The ancient technology would be his!

Cheyenne Mountain, Earth-777

"Do you accept?" General Hammond said to Maggie. He had just asked whether she would accept joining SG-1, until Sam came back. She had the military training and experience, so she was ideal for the job. Jack had agreed to this earlier, just before they left for the planet PX8-999, a world which Daniel believed likely to contain dimensional technology - sliding! It was going to be strange not to have Sam in the team. Maggie was not going to replace Sam's intellect, and they knew this. Also, Gabriel Law had just joined the team, so this felt even more odd to everyone. But it could only be good for Stargate Command.

Consumeristic World - Earth-819

The Doctor had jacked into some tv broadcast and transmitted a recording of Ted admitting to using subliminal technlogy. It was enough to cause a major revolution. People began to come to their senses. Ted was arrested soon afterwards. The sublmininal technology was illegal to use on this world, after all.
The Doctor went to a little shop whose owner was a somewhat crazy physicist Bennish. The Sliders knew him on their earth, and had met many different alternates of him on various earths. Here Bennish had not been able to do much except sell electronics parts. This Bennish was a bit on the paranoid side, even more so, when the news on the subliminals had come out. He kept mentioning a conspiracy. The Doctor bought some parts using the money from Arturo's paycheque, but it was not enough to get it to work. Some more parts were required and they did not even exist on this earth. "Time is rushing" Arturo said, "it waits for nobody!" Remmy added. It was time for them to slide anyway , so they said their goodbyes - mainly to Wade's sister and father, who were in tears like Wade was, and left via sliding to the next parallel earth.

Earth-820

Arturo landed first, flat on the ground. Next, Remmy landed, of course, on Arturo, hitting him! Arturo shouted 'blistering idiot - look before you leap next time!'. The others landed nearby. They looked around them. The look of surprise was on their faces. They had landed on a street, packed with people. The people were all - themselves! They were all duplicates of the Sliders and the Doctor!
The Doctor was confused at first, since he had never met any alternate duplicates of himself so far. What world was this?

The Sam in this fic is Major Samantha Carter, not the Sam from some Eight Doctor novels.
I have been reading CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS, finally I managed to buy the book.
Earth-002 is DC's Earth-2 but Earth-001 is not Earth-1. Earth-001 is the Sliders' Earth-Prime which might have been the DC Earth-Prime (a non-superhero world) but since that got destroyed
Actually, I am numbering Earth-100 to be DC's Earth-1.
The scene at the cemetery on Post-Crisis Earth or Earth-999 owes a lot to 'CRISIS EPILOGUE, The Last Good-Bye' by Alan Kistler (fanzing.com). The year is 2014, in between of the events in Excalibur vol1 #66. It shows how the sliding technology was obtained by Ahab.
