SPOILER: the Key to Time arc, Logopolis, Last Of The Time Lords




What you need to know:
"What if you could go to different earths? Same planet, different dimension and universe. Rose Tyler has found the gateway.


The Doctor is currently travelling with Martha. He is on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless and the powerless throughout the whole multiverse of multiple universes. He has lost Rose to Earth-776. Interdimensional travel seems impossible so he can never meet her again.
Rose Tyler has formed a Torchwood team of Who-Sliders - Computer specialist and expert Jade Wells, Quantum Physicists Professor Arthur Maximillian and Conn Mallory, Police Liason Jeff Slade and Medic Liz Parker. Together they slide from parallel earth to parallel earth, trying to find Earth-777, where the Doctor is located...

The Doctor is a Time Lord - a time-traveller from the alien world called Gallifrey [Universe-777, the Stargate Universe] who travels in space and time thanks to his TARDIS which looks like a police box, bigger inside than outside. When the Doctor is severely injured or even killed, he will regenerate into a new appearance and body. He is currently in his tenth incarnation (9th regeneration). He is the survivor of the Time War which saw his homeworld Gallifrey destroyed completely.

The original who-Sliders, after having managed to travel back to Earth-001, have kept experimenting with dimensional travel. Years have passed since the Sliders returned. They are no longer able to slide and have lost contact with the Doctor. "

After some time, the team decided to try to find another reality to go to. Perhaps they would find Earth-777 and the Doctor this time. Rose set her mobile phone, run the sliding midlet and a wormhole opened. They leapt through it and...

.. when they landed, they could see they were on Conaxia. The signs littered across the landscape said so, at least. 'Conaxia, the land of plenty'. Only it was quite barren and cold now.
"Hello, Rose Tyler!" Rose and the others heard this voice quite clearly.
"Welcome to Conaxia! I am the White Guardian!"

In the distance Rose could kind of hear singing.. like angels singing.. it was an old song she remembered from her childhood:
Time.. Time.. Time.. See what's become of me
Seasons change with the scenery
Weaving time in a tapestry
Wont you stop and remember me?

Rose's thoughts when back to the time when the Doctor tried to contact her from his universe... when he was going to tell her how he felt.. at least that was what she thought he was going to do.. with tears in their eyes as the connection was lost..
The White Guardian sighed and thanked Rose for getting here. "It is important that you understand me. Time, Space and the Multiverse are under attack by the Black Guardian once more.
The Doctor was once sent by me to recover the six pieces of the Key to Time, so I could restore the balance of the universe to its right place. Then the Black Guardian attempted to impersonate me and steal the completed key from the Doctor and Romana. This would have remade the universe in his image.
The Doctor scattered the key into its component pieces once again, to keep the Black Guardian from doing this.
The Doctor disassembled the key too early, causing various problems including the fall of Logopolis as a result.
Unfortunately, the balancing operations I wanted to carry out with the Key, were never done completely. I did manage to fix some things, also with the help of the Doctor and the first WhoSliders... However things in the Multiverse have simply gone from bad to worse. The Council of Guardians has decided that I must balance out the universes or they will not survive. This may also make all forms of sliding possible once again.
Only the Doctor dispersed them across the Multiverse. So since nobody is at present able to slide across the universes, except for your team, it you who must find them.
Rose Tyler I hand you the mission to retrieve the six segments once more."
"I have to accept I guess.. Will you help me find the Doctor though?"
"Your destiny awaits you, Rose. I have guided the formation of your team from the start. Do not despair. Take this tracer module, attach it to your mobile and it will guide you to your next destination where you will find a segment. Beware the Black Guardian. She will try to stop you from completing your quest!" the Guardian answered as he disappeared.

"What happened?" Liz asked Rose, who had been ignoring all that everyone had been saying.
"That was the White Guardian" Rose replied.
"White who? There is nobody here. This place is long dead." Professor Arthur commented, sighing. "I guess you are really tired"
"No I spoke to him. He gave as an important task" Rose looked at the others and began to show her mobile to them.
"Oh he did?" Arthur looked annoyed now.
"Yes he attached a tracer module to my mobile phone. It can take us to the segments of the key to time which he wants us to retrieve." Rose showed the module to the others. Conn confirmed that this looked like some technological device but it was not clear how it operated or what it was in fact. He would have had to open it, which Rose would not allow.
Soon enough they discovered that Jeff Slade was missing. He had disappeared into this air. After some time, they saw someone else appear out of thin air. It was Captain Jack! The Captain had just faced the Master together with the Doctor and Martha, on earth-777 in 2008 (here it was still 2007). The White Guardian had taken Jeff back to Earth-776 and brought the Captain to join this team, well this was what Jack claimed.

"Rose! It's extraordinary to see you are doing fine!" the Captain said as he hugged her. She was still surprised and could not find the words.
After a bit, she muttered "How is he? How is the Doctor?"
"He had a run in with the Master, was feeling a bit old, but we solved that now.. I was on my way back to Torchwood HQ when I just disappeared.."
After quite a bit of explanations and introductions, they decided then to leave this world, return back to P10X-920-776 where they would slide to the universe with the first segment of the key.

The team was ready to leave to find the first segment. So Rose operated her sliding phone and the usual wormhole opened in thin air. They jumped through it and...

.. when they landed, they found the usual stargate. They entered the dialing sequence on the DHD and the gate did its usual woosh! They gated to earth and found themselves in a park.

The Stargate was out there in the open!
Rose asked a passer-by where the place was.. The man replied that this was Sliema, thinking they were tourists.
Professor Arthur said what kind of name is that? Rose saw a newspaper on a newstand, she read it and told the others they were in a country called Malta. In front of them there was a big sign saying "LAZARUS: THE REGENERATION OF AN AREA, FROM RED TO GREEN".
